PictureMs. Lacritia Sanson with ECES principal, Wendy Cox. Ms. Sanson was also recognized as the November ECES Employee of the Month.
American Paper & Twine Co., Titans Radio and Georgia-Pacific Communication Papers announced Lacritia Sanson, a Physical Education teacher from East Cheatham Elementary School in Cheatham County, Tennessee, was selected as Teacher of the Week, for week twelve of the Tennessee Titans 2014 football season.

“As we enter week twelve of the Tennessee Titans season, we are delighted to have honored some incredible teachers across the state,” said Karen Shaffer, American Paper & Twine Co. Vice President. “This week’s winner is another stand out. We are excited to be able to present Mrs. Sanson with this award in recognition of the dedication and passion that she devotes to her school and students.”

“Lacritia is an amazing teacher. The students all love "coach" and have a ton of fun when they go to P.E.,” said Kortney Ross, East Cheatham Elementary Music Teacher. “Lacritia goes above and beyond as a teacher. She is a leader in our school in many ways. She is the head of our crisis team and regularly organizes trainings for the crisis team and the faculty. She is not afraid to think out-of-the-box and our school is probably the most prepared in the district because of it.”

Kortney continued, “Our school system does not have assistant principals at the elementary level, however, Lacritia does a lot of the tasks that an assistant principal would normally do, without the recognition or extra pay. She writes grants and organizes fundraisers on a regular basis to keep our school looking great and our gym well equipped. She is a very dedicated and passionate teacher and truly deserves this designation.”

Each week during the Titans’ season, submissions are reviewed to find exceptional teachers. The winning teachers receive a $400 gift basket full of supplies for their classroom and two tickets to see a Tennessee Titans home game. A new winner is announced every Tennessee Titans game and at the end of the season a ‘Teacher of the Year’ is selected from the Teacher of the Week winners. This deserving teacher will receive an award, a gift basket of school supplies (worth approx. $800) and tickets to the December 28th game vs. the Indianapolis Colts.
