Cheatham Middle School (CMS) has challenged their students for the second consecutive year to research, collaborate, and design a living art masterpiece. CMS students exceeded the expectations for this project. The live art gallery project, as it known at CMS, utilized 41 student groups from across 3 grade levels. Students had to research actual works of art and then collaborate as a team in order to design a representational living work of art. The project was brought to Cheatham Middle School by Assistant Principal Ryan Philipp as a part of his goal to enrich the learning experience of CMS students through engaging projects. The project was conducted last year with great success, however; this year the live art gallery brought in hundreds of visitors from around the community. The video below showcases the hard work and determination of CMS students.

There are amazing things taking place all the time throughout the Cheatham County School District, however; on March 15, 2016 students were afforded the opportunity to showcase the many exciting things going on throughout the district. Leadership Cheatham County participants were treated to a wide array of events at various schools throughout the district. Kindergarten through 2nd grade students at Pegram Elementrary had an opportunity to meet Leadership Cheatham County participants and enjoy a focus on literacy during read time. Harpeth High School students had an opportunity to present their course offerings and clubs that are designed to prepare students for post-secondary opportunities. At Harpeth Middle School, students demonstrated that they have been gaining proficiency in terms of coding and programing. All in all, this was a great day for Cheatham County students from across the district to gain some notoriety for all their hard work. We would like to thank all of the members of Leadership Cheatham County, and we hope that you enjoyed the experience.
