Four Cheatham County school leaders recently attended the national Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports conference in Chicago.
Coordinated School Health supervisor Shelley Duke, Cheatham Middle School principal Linda Owen, Harpeth Middle School principal Ryan Philipp and Sycamore Middle School principal Lisa Young were among the thousands of educators to attend the conference.
Thanks to the support of the federal Project Prevent grant, the four were able to attend the conference.
The conference was attended by educators from all 50 states and eight countries around the world.
It included work sessions, panel discussions and teamwork building programs that focused on incorporating events and activities into the classroom in order to not only make for a positive school atmosphere, but also to promote the idea of reinforcing and rewarding positive behavior.
