The district was awarded 12 grants, totaling $15,014.47, through the Chamber of Commerce’s Foundation with funding provided by A.O. Smith.
Through a competitive application process, schools across the district submitted grant proposals in the summer to fund projects not already funded through the regular school budget.
Lisa Williams, human resource manager at A.O. Smith, said, “It is a great honor for A.O. Smith to provide grants to Cheatham County teachers. The proposals we approve enhance the teachers’ abilities to engage students in innovative ways that address a variety of learning styles.”
Cheatham County Director of Schools Dr. Cathy Beck said, “We are truly appreciative of the generous support we receive from A.O. Smith and the Chamber. Each year, they continue to award grants to our amazing teachers, who submit dynamic applications. As always, these grants will enhance the educational opportunities for our students.”
