Dr. Batson presented her final project on Dec. 1 about recruitment and retention of teachers in a rural school district.
Her findings will be a major part of the school district’s Five-Year Plan’s Human Resources strand that will roll out over the next few months.
The distinguished panel, comprised of former school superintendents, was impressed with both her data and action steps the district will implement in order to retain teachers once they are recruited.
Candidates who successfully complete the year-long academy are endorsed by the TSBA for superintendent positions in the future for which they are a good fit in the state of Tennessee.
Dr. Batson has served 25 years in public education, with 20 years served in Cheatham County serving as teacher, principal and supervisor.
