Sycamore was among 25 bands from across Tennessee to compete in the invitational.
In preliminary competition, Sycamore was awarded first in Visual Effect, third in Visual Performance, first in Music Effect, first in Music Performance, first in Percussion and first overall band in Class AA.
The band scored high enough to be recognized with a superior band rating in the Tennessee Bandmasters Association.
Sycamore advanced with nine other schools to perform in the finals competition, earning eighth overall on the day.
“It was an incredible experience for the students, many standing ovations and compliments from other bands, parents and judges. It was a great day for the Sycamore High School War Eagle band,” said director Andrew Gaskill.
