Carter is currently the assistant principal at Sycamore High School, a position she has held since 2016.
She replaces Dana Bates, who will become the new assistant principal at Harpeth Middle School.
Carter, a CCCHS graduate, has been with the district for 19 years.
She taught at Sycamore Middle School for seven years and at Cheatham Middle School for seven years. She then served as the academic specialist at SMS for two years before joining the SHS staff as assistant principal.
“It has been an honor to be a part of the Sycamore High School family. Sycamore is an amazing school with an amazing faculty, staff and students. I have developed many great friendships and great relationships with the students that I will cherish forever,” Carter said.
She added: “I am so excited to have the opportunity to take my growth and experiences from SHS with me to my alma mater, Cheatham County Central High School, where I will have the opportunity to work with again and help educate the students to whom I taught at Cheatham Middle School. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working with students in an administrative role to continue helping students succeed in our school district.”
