Fall is in the air in Cheatham County.
Thanks to a generous donation of pumpkins by Eddie and Linda Potts, the Cheatham County School District wants to help fill the shelves at The Bethesda Center in Ashland City and The Ark in Pegram.
On Friday, Oct. 20, the community is invited to stop by the Central Office at 102 Elizabeth St. in Ashland City, Harpeth High School at 170 East Kingston Springs Rd. in Kingston Springs or Pegram Elementary School at 4552 Dogwood Lane in Pegram to pick up a free pumpkin.
All we ask is that you donate a non-perishable food item in exchange for each pumpkin.
The pumpkins will be outside and the food can be left in containers by the pumpkins.
The food will be donated to The Bethesda Center and The Ark.
Jelly, canned meats and soups are among the items needed most at The Ark, but anything will be accepted.
The Bethesda Center can use a mixture of everything such as jelly, crackers, tuna, canned soup, chili and vegetables, oatmeal, spaghetti and spaghetti sauce, instant potatoes, cornbread mix, rice, peanut butter and macaroni and cheese.
